Environmental Monitoring & Modelling
Heat stress, air quality and dispersion before you set out.
Live weather and air quality for the site turned into field guidance: WBGT heat stress, atmospheric stability, a Gaussian plume model for a nearby source, a weighted water-quality index with concrete sulfate class, and the MEDALUS desertification index.
Overview
Each indicator has a short academic note: what the value means for field safety, for instruments, and for materials on site. A Gaussian plume model predicts where emissions from a point source will travel under the current wind.
Laboratory results for soil and water can be entered to receive a geological interpretation in the same report.

How it works in the field
Method and equations
Gaussian plume
Ground-level concentration with reflection; Pasquill–Gifford class from wind and insolation; Briggs (1973) rural dispersion.
Water quality index
Weighted arithmetic index against WHO drinking-water guidelines.
MEDALUS
Geometric mean of soil, climate, vegetation and management quality.
